Cosmic Travel Sickness
by
Stella M. Turk MBE

Earth

Hold on tight, the world is whirling.

As it whirls, its also twirling

And its wobbling on its axis.

When the moon wanes and waxes

Seas follow with obeying dances.

On red hot base continents glide

And in spectacular way, collide

Resultant mountains, however tall

Having risen, needs must fall

Dragged to the heat below us all.

Stop the world! I now feel ill:

I didn’t take a travel-sick pill!

Authors notes

Following an episode of ‘Earth Story’ on BBC 2, describing how even the Himalayas are losing height, and Greece is sliding into the sea!
